SUPERVISION
CHELTENHAM & ONLINE
I offer individual and group supervision, in person in Cheltenham or online.
I don't come to supervision as the expert in the room. I invite reflection first and offer my own thinking second, so you build your own critical thinking. Supervision with me is a space to think more deeply about your clients, and about what their material stirs in you.
I bring a particular strength in multicultural and intersectional practice, and I make room for the spiritual and transpersonal when it's relevant to a client's world. This isn't something every supervisor offers, and for practitioners working in that territory, it can change what's possible in the room.
Who this is for
-
Trainee counsellors wanting a supportive but genuinely challenging space to develop their professional identity
-
Practitioners working with clients from different cultural backgrounds who want a supervisor who understands that terrain
-
Anyone who wants supervision that makes room for the spiritual or transpersonal dimension of the work, not just the clinical
How it works
Sessions run individually or in a small group, in a regular rhythm depending on your training requirements.
Many people start with a short call, so we can get a sense of each other before deciding to work together.
What people say
-
'Jinny has a remarkable ability to challenge me through thoughtful, thought-provoking questions while also providing a supportive and compassionate space for growth. During moments of occasional imposter syndrome and self-criticism, she helped me develop greater self-compassion and trust in myself as a developing practitioner. She has a vast understanding of multicultural counselling and supervision, and as a counsellor from a different cultural background, I always felt genuinely welcomed, understood, and valued.' — IM (trainee psychotherapist at Headstrong Counselling)
-
'Jinny was warm and welcoming, and in our work together I found her relational, open and inclusive. In our supervision group she would invite group members to share reflections and feedback before sharing her own, giving us permission to lean into our own critical thinking and reflexivity... I found her encouraging and supportive in our conversations around intersectional aspects of race, culture and identity.' — HD (trainee psychotherapist at Headstrong Counselling)

FAQs
1. Do you offer individual or group supervision?
Both. Sessions run either one to one or in a small group, on a regular rhythm that fits your training requirements.
2. Do I need to be looking for multicultural or transpersonal supervision specifically?
No. That's a particular strength of mine, and it shapes how I supervise, but it's not a requirement for working together.
3. What's the difference between supervision and therapy with you?
Supervision is focused on your clinical work: your cases, what comes up for you in the room, and your development as a practitioner. It isn't personal therapy, though the two can overlap in what they draw on.
4. Do you supervise trainees as well as qualified practitioners?
Yes, both.
5. How do I start?
